ACB Gallery, Budapest, presents the exhibition “Gábor Gerhes: Dilettantes agitate against art!” through December 15, 2016.The exhibition features the latest works by visual artist Gábor Gerhes, a Munkácsy Mihály Award-winner, who has regularly been exhibited in Hungary and abroad since 1985. The art on display includes photographs, sculptures and objects based on (pseudo-)geometric, figurative and textual elements, with all pieces thematically tied to a strong political position. The exhibition derives its title sentence from a sign appearing on the wall of the first international Dada exhibition in Berlin in 1920.The illustrations are marked by an eternal dissidence and also involve the appropriation of specific, historically loaded events and works. The exhibition is on view at ACB Gallery, 1068 Budapest, Király utca 76th, Hungary.
