The Contemporary Calgary Art Gallery hosts an exhibition by VSVSVS, “at the same time,” which will be on display through February 12, 2017.VSVSVS is a six-person collective that includes Wallis Cheung, Ryan Clayton, Anthony Cooper, James Gardner, Stephen McLeod, and Miles Stemp as its members. Their work is not concerned with solid architecture and is composed of bendable buildings and permeable walls. When VSVSVS inhabits space, they cannot help but create accretions and leave greasy fingerprint trails.These parallel thoughts inform the body of site-responsive work that has been created for Contemporary Calgary, made up of propositions for three floors: walls that expand, floors that refuse immobility and a giant vibrator. It is one exhibition where you won’t be asked to keep distance.
