Flowers Gallery, London, presents an exhibition of new and recent photographs by Michael Benson, in his first solo exhibition with the Gallery, on display through December 3, 2016.Benson has used raw image data from robotic interplanetary missions to create large-format landscape photographs of the planets, their moons and the Sun for more than a decade, constructing from fragments captured by machines hundreds of millions of miles from Earth exploring the visual legacy of over five decades of robotic space exploration. Benson’s images highlight the contrast between worlds with and without atmospheres and the visible traces of atmosphere and climate conditions on Earth and Mars, and in constant search of, as he describes, looking “through the eyes of our post-human avatars.” The exhibition is displayed at Flowers Gallery, 21 Cork Street, London W1S 3LZ.
