Gallery Onetwentyeight, New York, is hosting an exhibition titled '101 Scenes from the Land of Color' by Orin Buck that will be on view through October 9, 2016.The exhibition presents works by New York-based Orin Buck, who works with visual, audio and computer arts. Buck paints from a love of color, and creates an inviting land of color through his paintings. The works refer to landscape, life forms, geometry and forces of nature and the universe, using an expansive set of ideas of abstract art and painting in general. But in these works, colors are characters themselves playing out their own drama on a stage of modern traditions of paintings. The artist pursues painting as a part of his art practice which includes algorithmic computer art, video art, photography and music. In recent years, he discovered some small, cheap pre-stretched canvases, and found a productive way to work on a large number of these small canvases, exploring the new freedom of ideas discovered through small drawings. The exhibition presents mostly this series of small canvas paintings. The exhibition is on view at Gallery Onetwentyeight, Storefront, 128 Rivington Street, New York, NY 10002, United States.
