“Boundless Nature: Real and Imagined,” a new exhibition on landscape painting is on view through October 1, 2016, at DC Moore Gallery, New York. This group exhibition explores the diverse genre of landscape painting. With the coming of modernism and abstraction in the early 20th century, landscape painting has been revived and remade by artists who continually push the boundaries of the subject.The exhibition can be categorized into three general sections. In certain artworks, the viewers can observe the artist’s concern with representation and realism with a more modern focus. Others are more abstract focusing more on the natural world. Finally, the most experimental of the lot are landscapes painted entirely from the imagination.
