“Outlooks: Josephine Halvorson,” an exhibition of works by artist Josephine Halvorson, is currently on view at Storm King Art Center, New Windsor, New York, and will run through November 27, 2016. This project is part of the annual “Outlooks” series organized by the Storm King Art Center and the first outdoor site-specific installation by the artist.For the “Outlooks series,” Halvorson has created three new site-specific works titled “measures” that respond to the environment in Storm King’s 500-acre landscape and are inspired by the natural and artistic landmarks. The installations are large-scale painted wood rulers or “measures” and are to be viewed as art objects as well as perceptual tools. Although these rulers point at measuring time and space, their units are painted by hand and emphasizes the human touch in the artwork.“Outlooks: Josephine Halvorson” is the fourth in this exhibition series.The exhibition is on view at Storm King Art Centre, 1 Museum Rd, New Windsor, NY 12553.
