Anglim Gilbert Gallery is hosting “Migrations,” an exhibition of new paintings by Tomas Nakada, on view through February 18, 2017.Tomas Nakada has had solo exhibitions at the Newport Harbor Art Museum (now Orange County Museum) and at the Richmond Art Center, both in California. “Migrations” is his eighth presentation at the gallery over the past 25 years. His abstract imagery draws inspiration from patterns of cell growth and division observed microscopically, and patterns of migration observed from a global and geographic vantage point. Both perceptions are beyond the range of normal human vision. He has refined abstract imagery evoking a three-dimensional matrix in flux or expansion, creating softly modulated, luminous ground of oil paint over wood panel that delicately defines a structure and waves of floating movement. The exhibition is on view at Anglim Gilbert Gallery, 14 Geary Street, San Francisco, CA 94108, United States. For details, visit: http://anglimgilbertgallery.com/tomas-nakada-migrations/#ms-3940Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
