Galerie 88, Kolkata, presents Khageswar Rout’s solo exhibition, on view through December 31, 2016.This is the first solo exhibition of Khageswar Rout. He passionately studies the inner structure and the surface of natural objects by dissecting and splitting and transfigures their chromatic and tactile feelings in his drawing and sculpture. The relation between the inner and outer spaces, the inter play between the positive and negative spaces allow him to draw an analogy between construction and architectural spaces. He prefers to work directly with clay to express the fragility and complex visual nature of his work. Khageswar has received Shared Award in 49th Annual exhibition organised by Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Award of Sponsorship for solo exhiibition organised by 29th National Exhibition of Contemporary Art, Nagpur and Kala Sakshi Art Scholarship Award, Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust, Noida, New Delhi.The exhibition can be viewed at Galerie 88, 28B Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata 700017.
