Spruth Magers in Los Angeles is hosting an exhibition “Traffic Jam” by Cologne based artist Andreas Schulze that will be on view through December 23, 2016.Schulze made a repertoire of examining the most mundane objects of everyday life and unearth the previously invisible aspects of contradictions within them. “Traffic Jam” is dedicated to the typology of post-Fordian automobile design, advancing a project the painter has repeatedly returned to since the late 1990s. The life-size paintings of a variety of ‘cars,’ are arranged in a classical frieze of images, depicting a traffic jam. The cars look like a painterly collection of car doors, bumpers, and windscreens that seems to be mischievously composed by the hand of a child. The exhibition is on view at Spruth Magers, 5900 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA.For details, visit: http://www.spruethmagers.com/homeClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
