The Anita Shapolsky Gallery presents “Abstract 50’s Masters (Where Were the Mistresses?)” featuring work by artists from the last 50 years. The exhibition is on view from November 19, 2016 to February 25, 2017.The artists in this exhibition developed individual styles devoid of ego; leaving the purity of gesture, color and line in its place. Through their intuition, conviction and experience, these artists provide solid visual meditations on nature and life. Ernest Brigg’s works are fiery, explosions of paint erupting on canvas. Peter Agostini was known as a Plaster Master. Seymour Boardman created contemplative landscapes. There are many surprises in this exciting exhibition from abstract, semi-abstract, gesture, geometric to minimal painting and sculpture. The exhibition is on view at 152 E 65th Street, New York, NY 10065, United States.
