Chinese artist, Liu Wei’s second exhibition at Lehmann Maupin, New York is on till December 17, 2016. The artist’s new work will be on at the New York locations of the gallery. Each space will feature an installation alongside new paintings in which Liu Wei continues his examination of the physiological and psychological conditions that shape reality. Liu Wei has worked wide range of media that facilitates the conceptual nature of his work. Although China forms the backdrop of all his paintings, sculptures, installations, and videos, his focus is on universal issues such as the effect of urbanization on the landscape. Liu Wei belongs to the post-Mao generation and approaches these concepts with an open mind but sans any political undertones.
