Mindy Solomon Gallery in Miami is hosting an exhibition “Taste My Braindrops” that will be on view through November 25, 2016.The exhibition brings together the works of a group of exceptionally talented artists. Catherine Czacki’s practice of image production combines into a larger narrative when bracketed by text, resisting immediacy in favour of slow unpacking of the relationship between subjects and objects; while Katy Fischer, inspired by the aesthetics of museum display, creates group of artifacts or glyphs, oscillating between recognizable shapes and scrap-like remnants. Heather Guertin’s practice embraces the infinite potential of form of symmetrical eclipse to collapse and expand while keeping it constant and recognizable; while Alan Gutierrez’s work considers certain psycho-spatial qualities provided by the relationships between theatrical modalities and object placements. Mark Hagen foregrounds the interplay of materials, process, and form in his geometric, minimalistic paintings, sculpture and installations; whereas Dominique Labauvie forges the steel lines into self-supporting structures which maintains an interval segmentation, reminiscent of musical rhythms and sequences. In her sculptures, Sarah Peters questions and subverts ancient, classical, and symbolic figuration and their permutations over different styles and periods; while Josh Reames’s paintings plugs directly into our contemporary dilemmas. Brian Rochefort’s glaze-laden ceramic vessels exudes the anxious and disorder of material chaos, reflecting both abstract expressionism and contemporary painting aesthetics; while Guy Yanai’s paintings are characterized by bold colors, simplified shapes and a shallow depth of field. The exhibition is on view at Mindy Solomon Gallery, 8397 North East 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33138, USA.
