The Ringling, Florida, will inaugurate a site-specific installation by American artist Anne Patterson at the new Monda Gallery of Contemporary Art, on November 4, 2016. The Monda Gallery is a flexible space which allows innovative contemporary exhibitions to be showcased, particularly new media, video, performative and project-based work. It is one of several such permanent institutions backed by The Ringling which are devoted to the promotion of modern and contemporary art in all media. The Ringling has, since the time of the first director, A. Everett Austin, emphasized the importance of modern and contemporary art. The different galleries (four in total) of the Museum's Ulla R. and Arthur F. Searing Wing have been permanently repositioned to showcase the vast collection of modern and contemporary art. The Monda Gallery of Contemporary Art, on the other hand, has been undertaken by Keith and Linda Monda with an objective of creating an advanced discourse to showcase leading as well as emerging avant-garde contemporary artists.
