I’etrangere in London is hosting an exhibition titled “Currency” by Jyll Bradley that will be on view through October 29, 2016.The exhibition presents the recent works of artist Jyll Bradley, which demonstrates her multi-layered engagement with the process of drawing and mark making. Through installation, painting, drawing and film, the artist’s works expresses a unique personal engagement with identity and place. Known for her ambitious large-scale works for the public realm, this exhibition marks a turning point in her practice, as it expands itself into a new body of work for the gallery. The title of the exhibition is connected to her major new multipart work comprising 154 small, round coins arranged in a geometric network that reflects the set-up of a hop garden. These rounded carbon paper drawings, which are engraved with individual geometric markings and then mounted on fluorescent Plexiglas, are brought together in a networked constellation. Jyll Bradley’s ambitious installation examines the underlying currency that connects individuals together. The exhibition also includes the artist’s first film work ‘Brigitte,’ which highlights the shifting ideas of values that exist across different communities, as well as the concentrations of growth and creativity that produces them. The exhibition is on view at I’etrangere, 44A Charlotte Road, London EC2A 3PD, United Kingdom.
