'Joanne', a new film by Simon Fujiwara is being screened at The Photographers’ Gallery, London, from October 7, 2016, through January 15, 2017.The film commissioned in partnership with Film and Video Umbrella is a portrait of Fujiwara’s former art teacher. Joanne had a crucial impact on the artist - identifying, nurturing, and developing his talents while he was enrolled on a scholarship at the Harrow School for Boys.'Joanne' depicts the re-encounter between the artist and his teacher after a gap of 15 years and is a creative collaboration between the two. The work explores their interests and looks at the power of the image and the issues that arise with the representation of women.The exhibition is on view at The Photographers’ Gallery, 16 - 18 Ramillies St, London W1F 7LW.
