Paul Kasmin Gallery’s 297 10th Avenue space has received a bright splash of color in the form of Catalan painter Santi Moix’s latest series, “A Moment,” which features large-scale canvases based on studies of flowers. Recently, Moix’s work had centered around sprawling narratives — Huck Finn, Don Quixote — but with this pared-down subject matter, the artist returns to a more dream-like, ethereal style. Plus, according to Moix, the works have some particular ties to his decision to move to New York City in the ’80s.
