Part 1 of the two-part exhibition titled “Beloved Bodies,” presenting the works of 23 artists across the Arab world, which depict human forms, on view at Barjeel Art Foundation Gallery, Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah, ends on February 1, 2017. It's your last opportunity to check out the recent works by some of the most influential contemporary artists. The exhibition brings to light over 30 artworks that portray various representations of human form, ranging from 20th century to the current day, which intends to probe social outlook and precepts of how the human body ought to be comprehended, used and denoted throughout the world. The image of the body not only travels between figuration and abstraction, but also from an object of longing, fondness, and study, to an effective, self-conscious figure that perceives, pursues, and provokes the onlooker’s observation.Part 2 of the exhibition will be on view from March 2017 through September 2017.The exhibition is on view at Barjeel Art Foundation, Level Two, Maraya Art Centre, Al Qasba, Sharjah, UAE.
