Last chance to visit Miguel Branco’s exhibition titled “Spectres on Birds, Skulls and Drones” on display at Jeanne Bucher Jaeger Gallery, Paris. The exhibition ends January 21, 2017.This is the artist’s second individual show with Jeanne Bucher Jaeger Gallery. The walls of the gallery are punctuated by a series of small paintings, resembling pixels on a blank screen. Images of birds, skulls and drones refer to each of three main group of images – birds standing for nature, skulls for culture and drones for technology. These images, which are discreet and contemplative, seem nevertheless to silently haunt us like some kind of spectres: surveillance cameras, drones and icebergs that float on still blue waters, have strangely become symbols of our present condition. On the one hand they tell us about our immediate present, on the other they seem — already — to belong to a distant past. The exhibition is on view at Jeanne Bucher Jaeger gallery’s Marais Space, 5 et 7 rue de Saintonge, 75003, Paris, France. For details, visit: http://jeannebucherjaeger.com/exhibition/spectres/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
