'Figuring Filipino Utopia,' the ongoing exhibition curated by Charlie Samuya Veric at the Ateneo Art Gallery, Quezon City ends soon on January 14, 2017. It's your last opportunity to take a look at the recent works by some of the most influential contemporary artists. The exhibition represents 14 sections shedding light on key historical instances in modern art in the Philippines from the last half century. The exhibition explores the establishment of Ateneo Art Gallery, the foundation, the first institute of its kind in the Philippines, in reference to the modern art after the Second World War and the unexpressed utopian notion that strengthens its development. The show aims to reassess the channels that Filipino art has adopted to visualize a modern nation in the quest for freedom. The exhibition is on view at Ateneo Art Gallery, Ground Floor, Rizal Library, University Rd, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
