Last chance to see Pieter Ten Hoopen’s photographic works that capture life in the small town of Hungry Horse deep in America on display at the Galerie VU, Paris. The exhibition ends January 7, 2017.Lost in the middle of the Rockies, Hungry Horse is not a small mountain village, nor a holiday resort, it is only a statistical area for the US Census Designated Place with only 900 inhabitants, 70% of whom live in caravans. A sad and disillusioned reflection of the American economy that is ignorant of extreme poverty, this small town is buried at the bottom of a canyon where winter allows only a short white light. For nearly 20 years, Pieter Ten Hoopen has been a photojournalist, an accountant of the world's current affairs, reporting through the image the dramas that words cannot bear. He found his own story of love with the region when he spent a mere two weeks in it. This story will last 11 years. Eleven years of portraits of its inhabitants juxtaposed with the majesty of panoramas deploying the stunning beauty of an immense nature are now part of his oeuvre. The exhibition is on view at Galerie VU', 58 Rue Saint-Lazare, 75009 Paris. For details, visit: http://www.galerievu.com/detail_exposition.php?id_exposition=162&id_photographe=102Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
