The ongoing exhibition of photographs by renowned artist and photographer Yves Paradis, at the Galerie Au Bonheur de Jour, Paris, ends on January 7, 2017.Born in 1955 to a poor family of farmers, Yves Paradis discovered photography at a young age, and since then, it never ceased to be a part of his world. After completing his studies, Paradis worked in the tourism sector before being hired by a weekly and becoming a journalist. He regularly captured religious festivals and local festivities. On the turn of the 80s, his interests converged over “l’univers des garcons” or the world of boys. His colleague Joseph Caprio calls him “the Robert Doisneau of boys”, since, like him, Paradis too expresses great empathy towards the models in his photographs, whom he captures in natural lights without any artifices and often in black and white. His images always tell a story, featuring a character of particular authenticity and relatability. The exhibition is on view at Galerie au Bonheur du Jour, Nicole Canet, 1 rue Chabanais, 75002 Paris, France.
