Ashim Ahluwalia’s debut exhibition “Events in a Cloud Chamber” is currently on view at Jhaveri Contemporary, Mumbai, through December 17, 2016.Ahluwalia’s presentation includes the film, Events in a Cloud Chamber (2016), made by Ahluwalia in collaboration with the great Indian modernist painter Akbar Padamsee, over four decades after the original film by Padamsee (1969), carrying the same name, was lost. It also includes Padamsee’s first film, Syzgy (1969) and a new body of editioned archival prints by Ahluwalia, all presented within a site-specific installation meant to recreate the spirit of the Vision Exchange Workshop (1969-1972), a unique space for experimentation and collaboration initiated by Padamsee in 1969, and in whose context both original films were made. The exhibition is on view at Jhaveri Contemporary, 2 Krishna Niwas, 58A Walkeshwar Road, Mumbai 400006.For details, visit: www.jhavericontemporary.comClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition
