The ongoing exhibition entitled “Project Space: Yang Kai” at De Sarthe Gallery, Beijing, soon ends on December 18, 2016. This is your last opportunity to check out the works. The solo exhibition by artist Yang Kai endeavors to explore how people’s subjective visions of reality are shaped by the information present on the internet. In one of its two components, the presentation showcases a fictitious portrait comprising of hybridized photos of the artist, his friends and celebrities onto a Polaroid photo. This fictitious characters’ image is juxtaposed with traces of information such as a related magazine story found on the internet. The exhibition invites the viewers into a fictional world providing a vivid account of the unreal characters and showing as if world is familiar with the artist’s false identities. The artist conveys through his artwork that everything we witness may not actually exist and it may just be a distorted vision.The exhibition is on view at De Sarthe Gallery, 328-D Caochangdi, Chaoyang District, 100015 Beijing, China.
