“The Trip in Kyushu” an exhibition of works by Li Jin is on view at the Line Gallery, Beijing, through January 20, 2017.This exhibition presents Li Jin’s new works that are, as the title suggests, focused on his experiences in Kyushu, Japan. Although Li draws a lot of from Chinese culture, tradition, language, and socio-cultural diversity, it was after visiting Japan that he realized how the Japanese value their culture while still studying and integrating foreign culture. He says, “But the current situation of Chinese painting, is lack of a little excelsior attitude towards the art and the quality. Through traveling creation in Japan, I feel the Japanese nation’s spirit — strict in their own demands, doom to death and beyond, this plain willfulness is what I wanted.”The event is on view at B-B36 UBP, NO. 10 Jiuxianqiao Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing P.R.C. 100015.For details, visit http://line-gallery.com/TextView_en.aspx?tid=128&sid=98Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the event
