An exhibition of paintings by the Baroque artist Adriaen van de Velde is on show at the Dulwich Picture Gallery through January 15, 2017.The London gallery, celebrated for its extensive collection of artwork by the Old Masters of Europe, presents the first ever show dedicated exclusively to the Dutch draughtsman and painter Adriaen van de Velde, an icon of the Dutch Golden Age. The show includes over 60 compositions and preparatory sketches by the prolific practitioner, whose mastery of the human figure and lighting effects were complemented by the delicate structure of his paintings.
