Heri Dono’s “Angel’s Exodus” is on view at Tang Contemporary Art, Bangkok, through December 31, 2016.This is Heri Dono’s solo exhibition and will include not only his recent paintings but also his most important works from the 1990s until now. One of the most internationally renowned Indonesian contemporary artists, Dono’s works are uniquely creative. He uses Wayang shadow plays the skewer political situations in a humorous manner by combining imagination and illusion and highlights the local culture and contemporary art. By using humor to express religion, philosophy, folk tales, and the current state of society, he engages the viewer in these intense and seemingly difficult subjects.
