Galerie Buchholz in Berlin presents ‘Portraits’ by Isa Genzken through December 23, 2017.The exhibition presents a variety of multi-media works by Isa Genzken, conceived as a greeting to New York City. The series represents the artist’s response to being honored by the SculptureCenter in New York this year and incorporates photographic material – particularly photographs of her – reflecting on her person through the eyes of others and placing her own figure in dialogue with figures from art history. Genzken often dedicates particular works to friends, artists, or people whom she admires by naming sculptures after them.
