The sculptures that carry with them the spirit of the 16th century El Badii Place, or The Incomparable Palace have traveled all the way from Marrakech to New York. Created by Jumana Manna, they form a part of “The Contractor’s Heel” an exhibition at CRG Gallery till December 18, 2016.Commissioned by the 6th Marrakech Biennale, The Contractor’s Heel originated as a theatrical staging of sculptures at the remarkable remains of El Badii Palace. Jumana Manna’s body of sculptures take the edifice’s current material state as its starting point, while developing her ongoing interest in archaeology and heritage sites as arenas of modern myth production. The exhibition is on view at CRG Gallery, 195 Chrystie Street. New York, NY. 10002For details, visit: http://crggallery.com/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
