Michael Muir’s collection of paintings titled “Turning to Water” is on display at Sophie Gannon Gallery, Melbourne, until December 10, 2016.Known for incorporating simplicity and abstraction in his works, Michael Muir presents his view of the modern urban and suburban landscape through a series of paintings. Muir uses vibrant colors and a flat-paint style to portray scenes filled with simple emotions and little dreams. An empty backyard in “Plant a seed” tells us to do exactly that. A poolside in “A new sign” becomes the perfect ground for rediscovering hope. The scenes are tied to these little stories. The variety in the works corresponds to the variety present around us.The exhibition is on view at Sophie Gannon Gallery, 2 Albert Street Richmond 3121 Melbourne. For details, visit: http://www.sophiegannongallery.com.au/exhibition/turning-to-waterClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
