New artworks by Julien Bismuth are on display at Galerie Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois, Paris. The exhibition titled “Partition” is on display until December 23, 2016.The word “partition” in English means something that divides and separates. In French, the word can also mean a musical score or a sheet of music. In 2012, during a residence in Brazil, Julien Bismuth discovers the singular language of the Pirahã tribe, who lives by the Maici River. The language is tonal, it can be whistled, hummed, or translated into music. The artist articulates a part of the material collected during a research project he undertook in the tribe and combines it with other projects that he was already working on to create his new exhibition “Partition.”The exhibition is on view at Galerie Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois, 33 & 36, rue de Seine, 75006 Paris — fr.For details, visit: http://www.galerie-vallois.com/expositions/2016/julien-bismuth-partition.html++/image/chien-2.jpg/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
