Pearl Lam Galleries will open its new Singapore gallery space on Dempsey Hill, previously known as the Tanglin Barracks, on November 24 with a solo exhibition by Chinese artist Su Xiaobai.The new gallery space will be located at Block 15, right next to Como Dempsey, a new luxury lifestyle quarter run by Club 21.Pearl Lam Galleries will continue to maintain a program of or events at its Gillman Barracks space, with the new Dempsey Hill gallery space continuing to present exhibitions featuring works by artists from the Pearl Lam Galleries international roster of artists.Pearl Lam, Founder of Pearl Lam Galleries, says that the new gallery space demonstrates their commitment to Singapore and Southeast Asia at large.“Since our first showing at Art Stage Singapore 2012 and the opening of our first permanent space in Singapore in 2014, we have been working to connect meaningfully with both mature and younger collectors in the region,” said Pearl Lam“With Dempsey Hill, we see an opportunity to create more areas for dialogue and education, especially among those who are not yet familiar with contemporary art.”According to Pearl Lam Galleries, the opening of the new gallery space marks a new chapter that revives this part of the history of Dempsey Hill.
