Galerie Maurits van de Laar is currently playing host to a special exhibition titled "AUSZEIT". The exhibition opened on October 9 and will continue to run till November 13, 2016.The exhibition features the works of Diederik Gerlach based on the concept of time-out or vacation. His paintings give another dimension to it as they seem to have ‘fallen out of time’ or appear to be ‘waking dreams’. Referring to his own past, the scenes featuring charming landscapes and towns in Alpine countries contain absurd and disturbing elements that put the images on edge and undermine their initial idyllic qualities.The exhibition is on view at Galerie Maurits van de Laar, Herderstraat 6 2512 CV Den Haag, Netherlands.
