Emily Mae Smith's solo exhibition titled "Tesla Girls" is currently on view at Galerie Rodolphe Janssen. The exhibition opened on October 13 and will continue to run till November 12, 2016.The exhibition has been inspired by Christopher Priest’s 1995 novel The Prestige in which Nikola Tesla builds a machine that is intended to enable physical teleportation for use in the stage act of a magician. Smith has taken this theory to develop her images of female body as a blank surface for new inscriptions to be written. She subverts feminism with corporeality, on a futuristic and nearly sci-fi background.The exhibition is on view at Galerie Rodolphe Janssen, Rue de Livourne 35, 1050 Ixelles, Belgium.
