Driscoll Babcock Galleries, New York, is hosting an exhibition titled 'Aspects of Gray', on view through October 22, 2016.The exhibition presents a selection of achromatic works by six artists - Abe Ajay, Harriet Bart, Wafaa Bilal, Ross Bleckner, Marylyn Dintenfass, and Jenny Morgan. Each work exists on a sliding scale from luminous to opaque, while collectively they encompass a myriad aspect of gray. From Abe Ajay’s bone-white landscape, architectural and archaeological, to Wafaa Bilal’s statues with slickness of petroleum-based black enamel paint, these works represent the poetic and evocative nature of reduced palette. Marylyn Dintenfass used an innovative way of deploying ultra-violet light to create etching plates, resulting in a rich and organic illumination of darkness and light. Jenny Morgan also explored the shades of gray, as a manner of seeing her subjects anew and demonstrating the power of pure light and dark. The exhibition is on view at Driscoll Babcock Galleries, 525 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10001, United States.
