An exhibition titled, 'Seeing with the Inner Eye', that pays tribute to deceased Hamburg collector Klaus Hegewisch (1919-2014), is on view at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg through January 1, 2017.'Seeing with the Inner Eye', through a selection of drawings and prints, depicts the aspect of absorption into the inner world and demonstrates Hegewisch’s activities as a collector in the Harzen Cabinet. This impression of the inner world very subtly appears in self-portraits from Rembrandt to Beckmann, or even more overtly highlighted in master engravings such as Dürer’s Melencolia (1514). Blindness, coinciding contemplation and, certainly, the conception of whimsical worlds happen to be the steering themes of the exhibition. The exhibition is on view at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Glockengießerwall, 20095 Hamburg, Germany.
