An exhibition titled, 'Seeing with the Inner Eye', that pays tribute to deceased Hamburg collector Klaus Hegewisch (1919-2014), is on view at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg through January 1, 2017.'Seeing with the Inner Eye', through a selection of drawings and prints, depicts the aspect of absorption into the inner world and demonstrates Hegewisch’s activities as a collector in the Harzen Cabinet. This impression of the inner world very subtly appears in self-portraits from Rembrandt to Beckmann, or even more overtly highlighted in master engravings such as Dürer’s Melencolia (1514).
