Twin exhibitions, featuring the work of Adam Straus, are simultaneously scheduled to go on display at Nohra Haime Gallery and Adelson Galleries at 730 Fifth Avenue, New York, from November 22 through December 24, 2016.The two exhibitions showcase Straus’ paintings, works on paper, sculpture, and photography. Featuring more than 40 works, the exhibition at Nohra Haime Gallery will examine the artist’s body of work spanning three-and-a-half decades from 1979 to 2016. The show consists of the artist’s lesser-known photography and sculpture dating back to the early 1980s. A number of works on exhibit are from private collections and will be open to the public for the first time.At Adelson Galleries, the exhibition showcases 14 paintings and works on paper by the artist from 2011 through 2016. Many of these are the artist’s way of depicting the alarming rate at which the environment is being damaged and how technology plays a major role to alter our view of nature. Straus states this in a witty and cheeky manner. The exhibitions are on view at Nohra Haime Gallery and Adelson Galleries, 730 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10019.
