“Patterned Space” an exhibition of paintings by artist Diane Lorio is on view at the Mezzanine Gallery, Wilmington, Delaware, through September 30, 2016. The exhibition is organized by the Delaware Division of the Arts.The exhibition features patterns created by the artist that reinterprets organic, social, economic, and mathematical contexts. Lorio looks at the art of patterning from a broader perspective. She sees patterns emerging from biological elements such as the human DNA to mathematical systems, and those that govern our daily lives.Diane Lorio has been the recipient of the 2016 Individual Artist Fellowship in Painting. Through her artwork, Lorio questions the various philosophical and moral issues related to the art object. For this particular exhibition, she has utilized different printmaking techniques and sound.The exhibition is on view at Mezzanine Gallery, Carvel State Office Building at 820 N.
