A solo exhibition titled “Invisible Children’ by Lebanese photographer Rania Matar will run from September 15 through October 22, 2016, at C. Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore, Maryland. These photographs document Syrian refugee children on the streets of Beirut and third-generation Palestinian girls living in the refugee camps of Bourj el-Barajneh.Matar draws her inspiration from her frequent visits to the capital of Lebanon. Her photographs depict Syrian children at work, selling flowers on the roadside or carrying worn-out shoe shining tools and looking to make a living on the streets. These children often melt into the background almost becoming one with the graffiti they stand in front of.
