David Krut Projects presents 'Kwaal-ity Control', an exhibition of new prints by artist-printmaker Chad Cordeiro and Nathaniel Sheppardon, from September 1 through September 24, 2016 in the city of Johannesburg.'Kwaal-ity Control' looks at the printmaking industry and the art world as a whole from the perspective of these two artists. Recently, these two artists collaborated with David Krut Workshop to create William Kentridge’s gigantic woodcut, ‘Mantegna’- which inspired them to experiment with various components of printing industry with their personal works. 'Kwaal-ity Control' is an explorative, sometimes satirical take on the concept of a printer’s ownership of labor. The title is a play on the central theme, referring to the concept that every print needs to be quality controlled to be perfect, while examining how much ownership the printer has over the work in the context of labor and economy.Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
