Cheim & Read in New York will be hosting a survey of works on canvas and paper by Joan Mitchell titled “Drawing into Painting’’ from October 27 through December 31, 2016.Viewers will get a glimpse of Mitchell’s works created from 1958 to 1992. Painting and drawing overlap in Mitchell’s works that are in rhapsodic color or darkly massed forms and complex multi-panel formats. “Heel, Sit, Stay” and “La Grande Vallee XVI Pou lva,” among others, demonstrate her style.
