Datebook: ‘Summer Triangle’ at OCAT Shenzhen

“Summer Triangle,” an exhibition of artworks by Jon Rafman, Adrian Wong, Lantian Xie, and others, opened on July 31 and runs through October 23 at OCAT Shenzhen.This seasonal exhibition features works that represent the cityscape of Hong Kong in the context of the image of the city created by popular media.Jon Rafman's characters travel to various places in the city of Hong Kong on open virtual platforms to demonstrate the futuristic archaeology of the city. Lantian Xie captures the sound and movement of Martin Yan’s cooking to create a link between food and the human body through sensory experiences other than taste. His "Hong Kong Restaurant" is an installation project that features the menu of a restaurant named after the city.The door grills used in the urban structures of Hong Kong are the subject of Adrian Wong’s research, demonstrated in his work "Untitled (Grates VI/VII: Shun Tak Ferry Terminal/Derrick Industrial Building)."Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the show.
