Gazelli Art House in London is showing a series of portraits of Mickey Mouse by British Pop Artist and fashion designer Philip Colbert, founder of the cult pop art fashion label The Rodnik Band and creator of witty and humorous pop paintings and sculptures.Titled “GUESS WHO?” and produced in collaboration with Disney, the works take inspiration from Mickey’s iconic Pop status.“Everyone knows what Mickey Mouse looks like, I wanted to playfully hide his image and present symbolic everyday objects that engage the power of his image with a refined pop narrative,” Colbert explains.“I liked the Idea that Mickey, the King of POP, offers the viewer a silvery platter to gauge the symbolic power of everyday thoughtful symbols that he holds, they are easily accessible and humorous yet profound.”“GUESS WHO?” is at Gazelli Art House until May 7, 2016
